SOS YOUTH CLUB SDG’S

SCHOOL UPLIFTMENT PROJECTS

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet & improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere. The 17 Goals were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which set out a 15 yr plan to achieve the Goals.

193 Countries have adopted the SDG’s including South Africa. Here you can find the tracking of SA’s goals.

At the core of the 2020-2030 decade is the need for action to tackle growing poverty, empower women & girls and address the climate emergency.

Over June & July – the structure and resources/materials for the SOS YOUTH CLUB will be done – then in August when all Grades are back to school – the ELECTIONS will take place where students will be elected to lead the Goals.
School learners can then join whichever goal they prefer to campaign/support and projects / campaigns proposed.
SOS will provide an allocated budget for each Goal Leader who then manages this and reports back monthly to SOS.
SOS assist the Youth Club Leaders & members with resources, contacts, networking opportunities, internships, interviews, materials – whatever the Leader requires to carry out the campaign/project (within reason).

“To teach the youth about the importance of the SDG’s is paramount to improve the life of Mother Earth and her people” – “World leaders have called for a DECADE FOR ACTION, PEOPLE ACTION including YOUTH as a major part to generate an unstoppable movement pushing for the required transformations”

All of the SOS Youth Club members will receive a GREEN Tie as part of their uniform as an identifier to this cause.

SOS is always keen to hear from YOU !
